Opportunities for work & development of skills in a healthy, caring environment

Ever wanted to see a lamb being born, learn to ride a horse or build a dry stone wall? Have you ever tasted a real farm welcome, worked as part of team in the open countryside and felt the enjoyment of a good days work and a job well done? Whatever your experience, we’d be happy to give you the opportunity to do all these things and more in a healthy, caring environment. If you love the outdoors come and join our Working Farms project and learn new skills whilst having fun!

 

Currently we are able to offer:-

Outdoor Work: Accredited courses in Farm Work, Dry Stone Walling, Fencing, Horse Care, Gardening, Cooking, Hedge Laying and cooking, to enable you to become work ready – for employment, permitted work or a community project.

Community Gardening: ‘Gardens-Tidy’ community gardening scheme enables volunteers to develop their skills and provide a service for the community for those no longer able to look after their overgrown lawn, unruly hedge or a hidden flower bed.

Healthy Cooking Courses: Easy to follow recipes and training to encourage healthy eating from our allotments and other locally sourced food.

Creative Workshops: Opportunities on farms in Monmouth/Caldocot area for carers to express themselves through the medium of glass, felt, photography & cooking.

Team Building Days: Group activities centred around horse care, dry stone walling, fencing, hedge laying.
